Debt Collection Abu Dhabi: B2B Recovery Under ADJD Jurisdiction

Commercial debt collection in Abu Dhabi and debt recovery across the Emirate — unpaid invoices, government and semi-government contract claims, oil & gas sub-contracts and bounced cheques, handled under UAE law through the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) with full audit trails and No Recovery, No Fee on most matters.

For commercial / B2B recovery only. We do not pursue consumer debts on behalf of individuals.

    What we recover

Abu Dhabi receivables, handled like a CFO would handle them

Abu Dhabi is the UAE's contracting capital — energy, infrastructure, defence and government. Our Abu Dhabi caseload skews toward larger ticket sizes, longer payment cycles and complex sub-contracting chains. Every file is triaged before any debtor contact.

    Our process

Three structured phases — most cases never reach phase three

    1. 01

      Amicable phase

Multilingual outreach in English, Arabic, Hindi and Malayalam — by phone, email and, where useful, on-site visits to Abu Dhabi addresses. Most claims settle here without ADJD filing.

    2. 02

      Pre-legal demand

Formal Arabic demand letters under UAE Civil Transactions Law, with a fixed deadline and a complete evidence pack ready for ADJD submission.

    3. 03

      ADJD filing & enforcement

If amicable recovery fails, we coordinate with vetted Abu Dhabi litigation counsel for payment orders, cheque enforcement and asset attachment through the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department's execution court.

    Compliance & conduct

    Bank-grade conduct, ADJD-ready files

Abu Dhabi government suppliers, ADX-listed groups and multinational banks choose Decol because our case files hold up to internal audit, ADJD scrutiny and external counsel review.

    Licensed UAE operations

Recovery is performed through ICG Middle East Commercial Services FZCO, a DMCC-licensed entity in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai. We operate Emirate-wide under our UAE licence.

    No harassment, ever

Every action follows UAE Civil and Commercial Law and bank-grade conduct standards. No threats, no anonymous calls, no contacting a debtor's family, employer or wasta network.

    UAE PDPL aligned

Debtor and creditor data is handled under UAE Federal Decree-Law 45/2021 (PDPL): minimum-necessary collection, encrypted transit and storage, and confidentiality obligations on every analyst.

    Audit-ready files

Every step is logged. Banks, auditors and listed Abu Dhabi clients receive a complete, time-stamped chain of custody on request — suitable for IFRS 9 expected-credit-loss documentation.

    Frequently asked

Common questions about hiring a debt collection agency in Abu Dhabi

Are you licensed to collect debts in Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Recovery is performed through ICG Middle East Commercial Services FZCO, a UAE-licensed entity. Our DMCC commercial-services licence covers debt collection activity across all seven Emirates, including Abu Dhabi mainland, ADGM and the Emirate's free zones such as KEZAD and twofour54.
How does debt collection in Abu Dhabi differ from Dubai?
The amicable and pre-legal phases are functionally identical — UAE federal law applies. The legal phase differs: Abu Dhabi cases are filed through the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), not Dubai Courts. ADJD has its own e-filing portal, fee structure and execution court. Procedurally claims often move faster in Abu Dhabi for well-documented files.
Can you recover debts from Abu Dhabi government and semi-government entities?
Yes, with caveats. Direct claims against federal or Emirate government bodies have specific procedural routes. Claims against government-owned commercial entities (mubadala holdings, ADQ holdings, ADNOC group subsidiaries) follow the normal commercial process. We assess each file before quoting.
Do you handle bounced cheques issued by Abu Dhabi debtors?
Yes. Following the 2022 UAE cheque-law reforms, partially or fully bounced cheques are enforceable as executive instruments through the ADJD execution court — usually without a full civil trial. We pursue both the cheque enforcement and the underlying commercial debt.
How long does debt recovery in Abu Dhabi take?
Amicable settlements typically close in 30–90 days. ADJD payment-order cases can be resolved in 2–4 months for well-documented files; contested matters or asset-tracing cases take longer. We share a realistic Abu Dhabi-specific timeline before you sign off.
Do you have staff physically in Abu Dhabi?
Our debt collection operations team is based at our JLT, Dubai HQ. For Abu Dhabi on-site visits, document collection and ADJD filings we work through vetted Abu Dhabi-based partner counsel and field agents — coordinated and supervised by our Dubai case managers.
